Christopher & Banks Answers “What Should I Wear?” to a Christmas Cookie Exchange

Pamela Lutrell wearing Christopher & Banks

Today we have a special edition of “What Should I Wear?” with our question answered by Christopher & Banks.  When I told them I planned to write about What I Should Wear to a Christmas Cookie Exchange, they loved the idea and said they had many answers.

Often, I go from work to a holiday function such as a cookie exchange.  On those occasions, this beautiful Snowflake Embellished Cardigan Sweater from C & B is a fun option.  It looks lovely for work and goes nicely to a holiday party.  I am also wearing a Christmas tree necklace from the C & B holiday jewelry line.  They have many choices like these cute Snowmen earrings.

Most of the Cookie Exchanges I go to are in the afternoons and more casual, so Christopher & Banks had a fun outfit for me to be in the holiday spirit.

I have not wanted to take off this comfy Boucle Yarn J Pocket Cardigan Sweater since they sent it my way.  It also comes in a fun red.  The snowflake tee is great, but unfortunately sold out!  I do want to call attention to the design of the pockets on the cardigan.  Unique and very slimming.  I am wearing these with the Everyday Tapered Jean Average Shaped Fit and they are on sale right now for an amazing price!

Christopher & Banks is an affordable fashion line which makes it easy to have some fun holiday fashions just for the parties we attend this time of year. They are one fashion line which helps me to have holiday spirit and not break my bank account.  And speaking of affordable….here is my idea for cookie exchanges.

Pamela Lutrell saves on Christmas plates

During the year on my thrift treasure hunts, I will find Christmas plates.  I wash them well and save them for moments like this.  It costs just as much as a decorate paper plate and is much prettier…plus the one you gift it to can keep the plate and reuse again if they like.

Pamela Lutrell writes about what to take to a Christmas Cookie Exchange

One of our favorite holiday cookies at my house are Peanut Butter Kisses.  My adult sons go straight for the cookies if they know I have made a batch. They are always a hit at a Cookie Exchange and Gluten Free.  Here is the recipe:

Gigi’s Peanut Butter Kisses

2 cups of peanut butter

2 cups of sugar

2 large eggs at room temperature

2 teaspoons of vanilla

60 Hershey’s kisses

Preheat the oven to 350°.  I prepare the cookie sheet with a baking flour spray.  I like the one by our local grocery…HEB.

Cream the butter and sugar.  Add the vanilla to the eggs.  Add the eggs one at a time and mix until the dough is fluffy.

*These are made without flour and Hershey’s Kisses are also gluten free!  That said. I do not use a diet  or all natural peanut butter, but the full on product.

Roll the dough into balls and place about two inches apart on the baking sheet.  Bake until the tops are cracking or slightly brown.  It might be about 10 minutes depending on your oven.  After. You take them out, immediately press one candy into the center of each cookie. Cool on wire racks.Over 50 Feeling 40 in Christopher and Banks for the holidays

Now, when I am back home cooking and preparing for the next event, I am happy to be in the Brushed Ottoman V-Neck Top with the Everyday Straight Jean Average Straight Fit. This top is great and feels and looks like a soft corduroy.  It is very flattering and can be dressed up or down.

Thanks to Christopher & Banks for giving us great ideas for going to our cookie exchange events, as well as, other events during this festive time.  They have so many great options to make sure we all have fun and

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. I love your blog. Your outfits are so attractive on you and so relatable. Thank you for all your great work!

  2. I love C &B!! Affordable for everyday and dressier looks. Thanx for showing these.
Pam it’s so nice to have a blog where I don’t have to be a size 6 to enjoy the fashions. I’m over 60 and a size 14 and still love fashion and dressing up a little!

  3. I really like the grey cardigan that you are wearing. It looks very cozy and warm! Unfortunately our C&B store went out of business here since they were always another good option besides Chicos and JJill. I prefer shopping, trying, and buying at brick and mortar stores. You look beautiful and ready for the holidays! Thanks for all you do!
