How to Style Jewel-Toned Blue Pants: Look #2

Happy Wednesday, all!  This is my second way to style my jewel-toned blue EILEEN FISHER pants.  I have noticed during some of our Would You Wear It conversations on Saturdays, that a few women will say they could not wear an outfit because they would stand out and be noticed.  I can remember feeling that way during my 40s and early 50s. My confidence was low and to be noticed was frightening.

But now, it rarely bothers me….note I said rarely, because there are times I am not feeling it…usually connected to body image.  I love to be noticed for my smile and perhaps for a bold look like this coat provides.  Black & white looks great with just about any color.  I like it with these blue pants and then popped with the scarf.  Do you wear the smaller scarves?  I only own a few but I am beginning to like them more.

I encourage those of you who fear being noticed to take a baby step out of your comfort zone and try an outfit you love, but perhaps are worried would be noticed in.  You might find you like the world of bold, fun style occasionally and don’t mind being noticed at all.

Two of my favorite sales are on right now…the Dillards Shoe Sale, and the Talbots Red Hangar Sale.  I have a few fun items from these sales highlighted in the slide show below!  Thank you all for being here and

KEEP SMILING!!

  1. I’m one of the “don’t want people staring” ladies, my reason is from being around toxic people who comment, “You’re wearing THAT??” a little too often. And their accompanying looks… I am drawn to your bolder looks like this beautiful coat you’re wearing, and am trying to do this now and then. I find the older I get, the more snide remarks don’t get to me, and that’s good! Your scarf is a fun addition, and that draws the eye upward where your smile is! I have a few smaller scarves and do like them for the pop of color. You featured some great items in the slide show. Fun shoes!

  2. Belated Happy New Year, Pamela! I love this look. You are so right, black and white looks great with a pop of color. Know what I like doing with my smaller scarves? I tie them around the handle of a big bag like the one you have in the photo. You could rock either a b/w one or a bright blue one…or one with all three colors! I get lots of comments when I do that as an accessory. I change out the scarves I tie around my bag handle, depending on my outfit.

Keep up the great posts. I am seeing the benefits of going to a personal trainer three times a week myself. If I don’t take care of myself, who will? Thanks again for your inspiration!

  3. Love the coat and the scarf. A very pretty combination and love the way that !he scarf adds warmth and softens the black & white geometry of the coat. Shopping my closet for a variation of this combination….thank you so much for these great ideas.

  4. Thanks to my Mom and Dad (years and years ago) for instilling strength and self-esteem in my life. Having never been one of the ladies that “don’t want people staring” ; It seems that I have always had color in my closet, and the older I become the more I like color. I love this outfit and would wear it if I were not a vertically challenged person. I like the “Act your shoe size, not your age!” philosophy, It’s a lot more fun!

  5. I love that coat. I don’t have any small scarves & not sure I would wear one if I did because of my short neck. I do like the idea of one tied on a handbag or tote.

  6. I love this look and am trying to be a bit more adventuresome in what I wear. So with your post in mind, I took a peek at my pants selection…not one item other than black, brown, tan and navy. I’m going shopping! Thanks!
