The End of Our Texas Hill Country Adventure

The last leg of our Texas Hill Country adventure was appreciating more about the products in the area.  I have already told you about the Texas vineyards…of which, there are many.  But, our Texas Hill Country is also known for its peaches, lavender, and landscape beauty.  There was no better way to see it’s vibrancy than by visiting WildSeed Farms, along Highway 290 where so many vineyards live.

Wildseed is a gorgeous place from flowers, to butterflies, to pumpkins, produce and carefully curated boutiques.  It was sad we were on our way out of town, because I could have stayed for hours.  I would have been eating, taking more photos, and trying on beautiful clothes.  But, home was calling…so off we went.  I really want to return in the spring to see the bluebonnets and Texas wildflowers.

I have to say though…my favorite way to enjoy the delicious fresh peaches is, of course, in ice cream.  We found ours on Main Street in Fredericksburg….peach amaretto!

It was a fabulous weekend.  Thank you for allowing me to share the journey with you.  WOULD YOU WEAR IT returns tomorrow with me and Jennifer, and then………..my countdown to Christmas officially begins on Sunday!

Hope to see you then.

Happy Friday and KEEP SMILING!

  1. That’s definitely a place to return to when you can spend some time! The ice cream sounds wonderful, and such cute little dishes!! The flowers in these pictures are just beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your trip Pam! Can’t believe it’s already time for a countdown to Christmas!!

  2. My husband and I returned yesterday to rainy Ohio after a wonderful 4-day trip to the San Antonio area. We were part of a tour group and especially enjoyed our visits to Fredericksburg and Sandy Oaks Orchard. The San Antonio Botanical Gardens were beautiful too! It was our first, but hopefully not our last, visit to the area.

  3. And I actually like your hair a little windblown! Thanks for the beautiful pics! What a gorgeous place…

  4. Our son lives in the Austin area and we so enjoy our side trips to Fredericksburg and Wildseed Farms. Beautiful country. We live in the Panhandle and are already experiencing cold weather, so my garden has been put to bed for the winter. I love your blog—from a “nearly hometown” girl.

  5. My favorite peach dishes are cobbler and pie, but the ice cream is right up there! Thanks so much Karen…

  6. There is so much to experience in San Antonio and the hill country…you must come back Elizabeth. Glad you enjoyed your time here.

  7. My daughter is up near you Sue…she loves the Panhandle autumn weather. You are much more seasonal than South Texas. Enjoy and thanks for being here.
