It’s Been A Heavy Week

It has been a very difficult week for our community in San Antonio and most of us have felt as though we are carrying heavy weights around our necks.  But, honestly, it has been a difficult year ….period.  We are on our knees down here for the whole country.  After this week, we cannot love enough, hug enough, reach out to family enough, laugh enough, or forgive enough….in a just a moment, life can become very short.

I am thankful for all of you who come here each day and I appreciate all of the support.  I have some wonderful stories to share with you going forward.  And, as always, I encourage you to keep smlling and have hope…despite what happens around us.  It has been hard to do anything this week, but life does go on.

So, reach out now to a family member or friend you have not talked to recently.  It only takes a moment to call and say hello.  Don’t put off what can be done NOW.

Please, Keep Smiling!

  1. This is wonderful advice Pam. We take so much for granted, even take for granted that we will wake up again tomorrow. Life is so short, even when it is not cut short. I’m going to take a little extra time when I call my mom today, usually I’m in the middle of things when I call her, just to let her know I’m thinking about her beyond asking for her shopping list. My prayers are with all those who are suffering from this great loss in their community.

  2. Great idea, Karen. We often cut people short when we really shouldn’t. Enjoy your talk with your mom.

  3. It is never a waste to tell someone you love them or care about them. We know this, and still we fail to take the time. In some situations, it may even feel awkward. But it is worth it. None of knows what tomorrow might bring. Hugs to all of you down there!

  4. Thank you. Texas has had a horrific turn of events this year. As a whole will keep putting one foot in front of the other and never surrender to the unjust outcomes. Life is tough and what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, stronger together and considerate for the human spirit. God bless Texas!

  5. So much sadness and suffering for so many this year! I cannot prevent any of it, but I’m trying to bring a little joy and kindness to others around me when I can. And I thank you, Pam, for having this positive place to visit each day.

  6. Thank you for your well put thoughts. It’s been a ghastly year.

On an upbeat note, you have inspired me to have a consultation at the Bobbe Brown counter. My makeup routine definitely needs a shakeup!

  7. You have been on my mind ever since Sunday as you are the only person I “know” who lives in the San Antonio area. It’s almost impossible to wrap our minds around the horrific events that keep happening, but your advice is very apt.

  8. Thank you Elaine. What happened here was horrific. It has been so hard to comprehend. Thanks for thinking of me!

  9. It really is. The local media gives more details every day and I just cannot read most of it…such an awful day.
