Balsam Hill 12 Bloggers of Christmas 2016

Friends and family know I take Christmas very seriously…it
is hands down my favorite time of year.
So, when BALSAM HILL invited me to be one of their  12 Bloggers of Christmas this year, I could not answer YES fast enough.

Each light, ornament, and moment is so very special to me
and I have worked tirelessly to make Christmas my own for me and for my
family.  Now, with three grandchildren, I
hope to pass this love of the holiday down to them.  Christmas is about heritage…cozy…warm…inviting…family to all of us.

My wedding anniversary is also in December,
so Christmas for our new family began with a precious snowman I discovered on
our first anniversary in Frederiksberg, Texas.
This little guy to the left began my snowman collection.
In the past 32 years, I have built the snowmen, Santas from around the
world, and Christmas trees into collections which are all displayed in my
traditional red, green, and plaid décor. My adult children know the stories behind each one.

Last year, I added some burlap to update the look, but every
year I enhance the collections.  This year, to be
able to add BALSAM HILL ORNAMENTS had me on the brink of tears.  These ornaments are stunning and fit into my
own aesthetic perfectly.  I sat for an hour
unwrapping each ornament, holding it up and fully appreciating the design, detail, and beauty.

I was like a child in a Christmas
movie smiling with pure pleasure while sitting with the ornament box in my
lap.  Each one became more special than
the last.

We always had a real Christmas tree when my children were
young, and we enjoyed the whole process of selection and decorating.  But, my husband and I had already discussed
the plus side of artificial trees.  We
were just skeptical of finding one which looked authentic.  Upon opening our BALSAM HILL TREE, we
immediately knew we had no concerns…the tree is amazing how it is made.  Our 26-year-old son walked in the house and
said, “Woa…it does look real!”  The whole
family has seen it and put their seal of approval on it…when I honestly
expected push back.

Balsam Hill products are incredible…high quality and beautiful
in craftsmanship from tree to shining ornaments.  My little snowman started my collections and
Balsam Hill is making sure my traditions go on.   I
cannot wait to see them next week also.
Balsam Hill will debut their “Deck the
Halls” float in the 90th Anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 24th, 2016. That is another tradition at our house…turkey, the parade, and football!

I have already Decked our Halls and love having them decked
early this year.  Check out BALSAM HILL…you
will not regret it!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

  1. I also have a collection of snow folks. I put them out right after Thanksgiving to bring us good luck for a white Christmas

  2. These photos of Christmas are beautiful. You really captured the mood of the holiday. I remember as a child my mother had in our basement what she referred to as the "Christmas Room". There she stored and collected some of the most unique Christmas balls and table top decorations. She started decorating the day after Thanksgiving. It lasted until the day before Christmas Eve. When finished there were 5 rooms (tv room, dinning room, hallway, formal living room and library) individually sparkling in Holiday Cheer. It was truly magically. Thanks for posting. This brings back such warm memories. Merry Christmas!

  3. Beautiful post! We've had a Balsam Hill tree for years. Very realistic, easy to store & put up and doesn't die when we leave home and can't water it. 😉
