Hit Your Style Sweet Spot: Saturday Brunch Fashion Over 50
Welcome to a new collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40. We desire for all of us…the grandmothers, the professionals, the retirees, the volunteers… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day. After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning. But, we both know just how transformative style can be and we hope to encourage you with specific, step-by-step guidelines right here every Sunday. We would like to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence!
Each Sunday, we will bring to you a scenario we face each week and show you our step-by-step process as we decide what to wear…you will see on our individual blogs how we handle the challenge and seek our personal sweet spot for the day!
I love brunch…don’t you…especially on the weekend! Some of the photos I will feature today are actually about EASTER BRUNCH…but more about that at the end.
We are discussing what to wear to Saturday brunch which is often more casual than Sunday or holiday brunch. I have seen some ladies come on Saturday looking as though they just rolled out of bed. I am familiar with that style…I honestly used to do it. I would dress my precious children so nicely, but not leave time or care for myself. So, now, though it is Saturday, I take time to look my best!
I would wear something fun and easy like this SOFT SURROUNDINGS SUNSET TOPPER! This is a way to be comfortable and still look stylish. Comfort does not have to be yoga pants, or denim with holes. I repeat this often…you just never know who you are going to meet or see, or what opportunities may come your way.
Plus we enjoy the meal and the company more when we are confident and can enter the room with a smile.
The bracelet is also from SOFT SURROUNDINGS JEWELRY ON SALE.. And I selected my black ballet flats…which I love for casual style.
If I take the time to look my best on a Saturday, then brunch may easily be at the SWEETFIRE KITCHEN AT THE LA CANTERA RESORT. And not at a pancake house. Why not eat in a special place when I am dressed for special time with family or friends? (And the food is so delicious there!)
THE SUNSET TOPPER is lightweight and designed for confidence with a flattering fit…in fact is great to wear for shopping after brunch. Much better than going home in an old tee shirt or sweat shirt. Good to have a Soft Surroundings nearby in THE SHOPS OF LA CANTERA.
Now, let’s see what JENNIFER AT A WELL STYLED LIFE is wearing to brunch!
HAVE A HAPPY LEAP DAY!
Happy Birthday to those who do not get one every year!

You look perfect for a Saturday brunch! I love the flow of that top. Such fun colors. That menu looks mouth watering. I'd have a hard time choosing.
I am having breakfast at this moment, but I am getting hungry again! Its hard to imagine that there were times you did not dressup. Because it was there inside you to do so!
One of the reasons I love brunch…the menu!! Thanks Jennifer…I love your top and your style tips!
Yes, I was a mess for most of my late 30s-40s! But, I am having fun now! Thanks for joining in today!
Like Fashion and Food, I am eating my blueberry muffin right now, and all this delicious food is making me more hungry! Love your topper, so pretty, xo

I wish I was skinny like you and could eat a blueberry muffin! Just had my Greek yogurt and flaxseed!! Thanks for the kudos and for stopping by Patti. See you later for your link up, Visible Monday!
The topper looks fabulous on you! I think brunch is my favorite meal… 🙂
Thank you Susan…I really like the topper so much! I also love brunch…because breakfast is my favorite and brunch is breakfast exploded! 🙂
Such a gorgeous topper! You look fabulous! I love the bracelet, too!
I love your positive attitude! I will soon be over 40, and I am intending to enjoy that new decade fully, not worry about getting older. Life is a gift.
I need to know if you will be at BAM!!
I need to absorb your wisdom IRL!
YES! I will be at BAM (look in the sidebar if not familiar and click on the button) I am on the speaker team…and I look forward to meeting you Carla…I think you have a lot of wisdom which would benefit me!!
Pam, I think it is fantastic that you are a speaker at BAM!!! I wish I could attend. I know that a blogging convention would be so helpful to a newbie like me. It is just so far away:(
Thank you Tania! I was a speaker last year at the first BAM and am honored to return to talk about branding! I also write for the founders of BAM every Tuesday on Midlife Boulevard. I so wish you could come…would love to meet you.
I enjoy taking in brunch with friends. I enjoy dressing for the occasion as well as the time spent catching up with girl talk. You look festive, Pam. The topper is divine.
I love how colorful your outfit is. The brunch is so elegant. I bet it was delicious and everyone had a great time. Pinned and shared. Thanks for linking up at #overthemoon! I hope you will join me at #thursdayfavoritethings.
I'm a total brunch girl too! And that is such a great print!

I missed this post. (I know… I should visit your blog more frequently… but I am so overloaded with work and blogging, my apologies).
I love this jacket. Gorgeous pattern and colours. I bet you will get quite some compliments over it.
