Goodwill Goodies: Packing A Punch

Beyonce and I have a lot in common!
No, seriously…stop laughing!
Maybe I don’t sing like Beyonce…or shake my booty like Beyonce…or live a life like Beyonce…but both of us appreciate the work of Goodwill!  See what she is doing for Goodwill HERE!

Both of us know how much GOODWILL pours back into the community by helping the citizens who need it the most!!  Goodwill is not just a thrift store, but a thrift store which packs a punch…a lot like Beyonce!!  It is important for all of us to remember our Goodwill spending goes to a greater good and can make a difference in many lives.

For example, remember when you need to accessorize, Goodwill is a great place.  Here are some of my favorite jewelry finds on my recent treasure hunts.  In the above outfit, my leopard tunic, the necklace, the bracelet, the watch and the belt all came from Goodwill. (Store Location: Highway 281 @ Bitters, San Antonio, TX).  With great accessories, we can all pack our own kind of punch!!!

Ok…I am off to work out to All The Single Ladies…see, Beyonce and I are practically family!!

  1. I just donated 5 big boxes of things to Goodwill this afternoon. I shop there too. It's a wonderful way to give back to the community. You look lovely in your animal print. I love wearing them myself.

  2. Thank your for the connect to Beyonce's Goodwill endorsement. I love a good Goodwill haul!
My non-profit administration class (for my master's) has a standing weekly assignment; to bring in one article about non-profits in the news….you just gave me mine!

  3. What a great post….love that watch, and the fact that you use the thrift stores…..pity we don't have a Goodwill over in the UK! p.s. please check out my blog if you get a mo! xx

  4. That necklace is beautiful. Seriously, Pam, we all know you shake your bootie like Beyonce when you are cooking alone in your kitchen w/ the music on! Lol xo

  5. You have a good Goodwill! Have been to different ones and each is different. Some are more organized, some are cleaner, some not. But hunting for the treasures is so much fun!

  6. I love you in leopard! It's funny you write about Beyonce, I've just been listening to 'Crazy in Love' by her this morning. I've found a couple of treasures from Goodwill on eBay, including a fabulous vintage Yves Saint Laurent scarf and a workout DVD. Good ol' Goodwill! XO, Jill

  7. We have Value Village thrift stores in Toronto area. Great way to give back to the community and do some bargain hunting. I do seasonal drop offs there, especially kid's stuff.

The best kept secret are high quality silk saris (for a penny) bright and pastels, printed and monochromatic, traditional and quite modern, if one can sew. Fantastic fabric for a scarf, blazer or even little dress or summer skirt.

Animal print works for you so well and I like how fearless you are with the contrasting belt.

  8. You would not believe the wonderful things I have found at a local Goodwill….many Chico's items, a leather coat, Naturalizer shoes, dressy shoes for my son's wedding, autographed books, housewares etc. We go practically every week because of the huge turnover at the Northbrook, IL store! I have signed up for their e-mails and occasionally they will send a coupon for 50% off an item, or, on the 15th of every month, they have a scratch-off with an additional percent taken off your total….+ a senior day!

  9. Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing the hop with your readers you are such a doll! Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things Hop xo
