Fashion Over 50: Summer Sunday Style Sweet Spot with Jumpsuits

Welcome back to my third Summer Sunday Style Sweet Spot for women over 50... where we see how women are bringing their best looks in the summer heat!  Meet my sweet friend, Jeannie, who was rocking this jumpsuit at a recent backyard picnic...
She looks amazing and her confident smile says it all. Jeannie is a wife, mother, grandmother, and educator.  She always looks great.  I have also seen some ladies who are wearing jumpsuits with kimonos or wraps for special events.  Jeannie says she has had this one for awhile.

I have never tried a jumpsuit...really for comfort reasons...because at this stage of my life, I visit the ladies room...let's just say...often!

But, in looking at other ladies in them and seeing some very figure flattering styles, I might be convinced to at least try one on!  Look below to see some of the great options out there.

Jeannie also complimented her style with a beautiful necklace.  Since it was a warm day, and casual event, she looked perfect in her sandals with freshly painted toes.

So, what do you think about jumpsuits?  Are you in or out?  Have you actually tried one on to come to that decision.

No matter what the rest of us think...I know Jeannie has hit her style sweet spot with this one!

Keep Smiling, everyone!

  1. She looks so good in hers but I'm like you. I'll have to pass this time around

  2. I'm out. I wore them in the past, but it is very difficult to find yourself in the position of having to "go" and gather it up so it doesn't hit the floor in a public restroom, or lose the top behind you (even worse). While it might be okay if you are at someone's home (clean) and have time to adjust, for me, cute as they are, they are just too much trouble. Other outfits look flattering with none of the hassle. Speaking for myself!

    1. I would say the same thing for me...though you have worn them and I have not. I wish I could wear them. But I think I can achieve the same type look with two pieces over one. If I had a different body shape, it would be worth a try...they do look good.

  4. There are not words enough to express my love of the jumpsuit. Had one on at a wedding recently and someone said to me: you are so hip.
I laughed because I've worn them for over a decade. I will still be wearing them when they are no longer hip :-)

  5. I've never worn a jumpsuit but I agree with you Pam that it can look pretty fabulous on us - the bathroom thing is an issue though :)

    1. Sadly, it is an issue! But I admire women who can wear them. Thanks Leanne.

  6. I used to wear them all the time. I had casual, dressy, work ones. Now, maybe? For me they used to be a flattering line being short.

    1. I bet they would be flattering for shorter ladies! Thanks for leaving the comment!

  7. She looks fabulous! I do like the comfort of a jumpsuit (don't have one at the moment) but my problem is how unflattering they are from the back...oy. So I love your suggested pairing with a kimono or some type of wrap! :)

  8. I have worn them in the past and loved them, but I had to be careful to ensure that they were long enough in the body for me. Now that I'm older, the bathroom issue would also be another consideration. Jeannie's looks so comfortable!
