Fashion Over 50: Fit Options In Skirts
On Sunday, I discussed how much I like the JJill Pencil Skirt. Another place where I find affordable, well fit skirts is Dress Barn. I found this knit recently on sale and love the cream, pink and black print. It is an easy skirt to style all year long.
On this day, I wore it with an open toe, mettalic shoe which has a small wedge to it. Another day though, I will probably wear it with ballet flats.
There was one comment the other day about our over 50 knees. I realize mine are not the best, but so far I do not see them as a reason to not wear skirts at all. I am sure that will not always be the case! This skirt is a little longer than the other one I had on earlier in the week and I do prefer this length.
I selected some Dress Barn skirts for your consideration below. They are one retailer, like JJill, which covers all body types with their options and often have sales. There is so much versatility for a skirt like this…can be dressed professional or casual. I am really glad I found it!
Love this outfit, Pam! I'm going to have to try a pencil skirt — it's so flattering. I started shopping Dress Barn about a year ago and always find wonderful clothes there. I like the top you have on, too.
I just went back to Dress Barn recently and I am glad I found the skirts there. Thanks for stopping by Beth.
One of my coworkers introduced me to Dress Barn after I commented on how well-dressed she was. I enjoy reading your blog and that of Jennifer from A Well Styled Life.
So cute! And thanks for the inspiration! My wardrobe needs a new look 🙂
You are welcome Mona! I do hope this blog brings inspiration!
What gorgeous skirt and shoes. We don't have a Dress Barn here in NL Canada; but I do find some great things at the local thrift shops. I'm wearing a similar skirt today; but my shoes are no where as pretty as yours.
Gorgeous outfits! With these choices we can't help but look Fabulous over Fifty! 🙂
That's a great length. I get frustrated with so many cute dresses that are so short, I wear them as tunics for a skirt or pants. Not that it is so bad — it's just I wish some of them had a few inches on them. Just above the knee would be nice.
Dress Barn is online, Sandy. The shoes were a Stein Mart discovery and I really like them. Thanks so much for stopping by.
I know, Darlene! There are so many great options for us now!
I really like this length and wish I could find it more, Jamie. I understand your frustrations. Thanks so much for reading and commenting.
I really need to check out those pencil skirts. And I don't care how my knees look. When it's summer in Texas, I'm wearing shorts!
Exactly, Cathy!
