Just A Touch of Color Goes A Long Way
Last weekend, we opened one of the back doors to discover several roses had bloomed. Both my husband and I gasped at the surprise and enjoyed the beauty of each one against a back drop of a backyard transitioning into spring. Just this little bit of color went a long way in bringing us pleasure that morning.
Clothing is the same way. I often wear a neutral outfit and just pop it with one touch of color such as this purple jacket. Because of the crops, I might wear this for my casual attire such as meeting a friend for lunch or even running errands o shopping.
Even the accessories add some pattern and shine to this simple look. These ballet flats are from the TOTAL MOTION COMFORT LINE BY ROCKPORT.
I found the clutch in a clearance sale at a local small boutique. It is a fun piece to wear out and always gets noticed by someone. Color, pattern, texture, shine and fit …always are components of a successful look…whether casual or work wear!
Lovely…Both you and the roses! Thanks so much for sharing.
Such a fun look. I love love those shoes! Pretty pattern plus comfort!! Lucky you, long legs wearing crops.
You know I love color. Talked to a teacher yesterday who said she only had black, white, and shades of grey in her closet. "Makes it easy to get dressed." Oh no! Give me color.
I love the purple jacket. The ensemble with the jacket over the white top and black pants has a very slimming effect, too. And, I love the ballet flats. I'm always on the lookout for cute flats as I haven't worn heels for years, now. You look cute and spring-y!
Thank you so much…the outfit I thought about, the roses were a surprise…now I am motivated to work in my backyard more. Thanks Diane!
These are that wonderful Total Motion collection from Rockport…I am a fan!
I love the neutrals and were them often, but something about spring just brings out the color side of me! Thanks Adela!
Purple is in my top five favorite colors! Thanks for the kind words…I highly recommend Rockport flats!
I am so envious! We got six inches of sloppy wet snow the day before yesterday! No flowers here for quite some time. During our long winter months our world is almost monochromatic… mostly shades of black, white and grey. I've been wearing a lot of those colours too, but these days I find myself craving a pop of something brighter.
