Wardrobe Inspiration for Women Over 50

When I went through my reinvention time 12 years ago, I would look all kinds of places for inspiration with my clothing.  I looked through books, magazines, blogs, fashion shows, store displays…just to name a few.

However, now I primarily go to PINTEREST for inspiration.  There was a look I saw on Pinterest last week which inspired what I am wearing today. When I saw the picture online, I immediately thought I have all the pieces for it…let’s give it a try!  The coat and top have been in my wardrobe for years, and I have not worn them for a very long time. The coat is so lightweight, almost sheer. The original look was featuring a solid neutral top, but I chose to mix things up a bit with a print.
So, I believe to spend some time on Pinterest or blogs every week may inspire you to use pieces in your closet in more creative ways.  It helps us to shop our closets more than the stores and get more out of prior purchases….in other words, more bang for your buck!  I also love to watch what other women wear…one of my favorite past times.
Here are my Pinterest boards where I most often put my favorite looks:

  1. I love seeing what other midlife bloggers are wearing and how they are morphing their look as they get more mature. Pinterest also holds a very dear place in my heart 🙂

  2. I look in the places you mention, and will have to devote more time to looking on Pinterest. It's been my go to for decorating ideas, so why not fashion? Like today's look very much. Looks polished!

  3. I too love learning from outfits I find on pinterest. Great look you have going there. Have a great day!

  4. Thank you Kelly! I practice a lot and try to use what is already in my closet. I don't always nail it, but it helps to have pictures to be inspired by.
