Style Sweet Spot: Graduation Wear for Women Over 50

Welcome to a fun collaboration with Jennifer of A Well Styled Life and Pam of over50feeling40.  We desire for all of us… the fabulous women over 50 …to look and feel our best each and every day.  After years of blogging for this audience, we have heard from so many of you about your discouragement and despondency when you look in the mirror every morning.  But, we both know just how transformative style can be, and hope to encourage you right here each week.  We want to see all of us empowered with strength, joy, and confidence.

It’s that time of year again…graduations from all schools…with weddings on the horizon!  For graduation and graduation parties, I personally like to wear a dress.

Parties and ceremonies may be outdoor or inside and a dress will work for either situation.

Also, I stay cooler in a dress and this time of year, there may be heat involved…depending on the time of day.

Also a dress can be taken up a notch if you need to or taken down a notch…depending on the venue. Use select accessories for both.
Some of the ceremonies can be very long so comfort is a must…no matter the selection you make.
But, dresses for spring and summer are colorful and fun… enjoy a seasonal selection for celebrating!

This JODE DRESS DESIGNED BY COMFY USA from Artful Home is colorful, cool, and comfortable.  In June, you can buy it for 15% off!  Also, they have many fun selections in the SALE category now.

I love it with this super cool, unique MARION NECKLACE.  So much fun…a true statement piece…I strive to have pieces like this in my wardrobe!  It is designed by artist Kathleen Nowak Tucci.

And, last but not least, the stunning leather YOSHI BAG  is amazing…so beautiful…I carried my graduate gift and purse items in it.

ARTFUL HOME has the June sale coming up soon, with 15% off EVERYTHING on the site…. and before that, many items will be moved to SALE…so keep an eye on things you love!

As I have said before, dresses are great for just about any situation and will keep us cool and looking confident over the summer.  Of course, I put on a touch of tinted lotion on the legs before wearing the dress!  You can find beauty at any price point for graduations and weddings ahead.

Now let’s go see what JENNIFER OF A WELL STYLED LIFE  is wearing for graduations.

What do you like to wear to a graduation party or ceremony?

Have a wonderful week ahead!

  1. That is a beautiful dress. I love the hemline especially. Beautiful color that is so flattering. I am a dress girl for "occasions" too, even picnics. Love their ease of styling. Your necklace is so interesting and I would think you will get lots of questions and complements on that! Great outfit. Also, love that it has sleeves, and the sleeve length is perfect!

  2. Thanks Karen! I love this color blue. I have got to get out and shop more for dresses…I am sorely lacking and finding myself desiring to wear them more often! Have a fun day!

  3. I adore this dress on you! The color is simply stunning!! I'm in total agreement about dresses for graduation too. Of course you know how much I love that tote bag.
    Great look all around.

  4. Very pretty dress! I desperately need a dress or two in my wardrobe. I think we are close to the same size. Do you mind telling me what size you have on? I have never ordered from Artfully Home or this designer and have no idea how the sizing runs. I usually wear a 3 from Chico's and a large or even XL in tops from J Jill. I do have a large bust. I just found your blog recently. I love to get fashion advice from people more near my age and size! Thanks for that!

  5. I am the same size! This dress pictured here is a size Large…the XL had too much volume for me so I preferred the smaller size. It is very comfortable and light. Remember they have a big same coming the whole month of June.
