Covered Perfectly: Job Hunting and Comfortable Clothes
“Perseverance is failing 19 times, and succeeding the 20th.” -Julie Anderews
It’s probably been thirty years since I filled out a job application…and to say things have changed is an understatement. Everything is faceless…online…with a constant manipulation of words so that your application rises to the top for the position being sought. Then one decided to throw in a math test in the process…seriously, a math test?? I know words, not numbers. The whole process requires steadfast moment by moment perseverance.
Pauline Durban, founder of COVERED PERFECTLY, knows perseverance. She has followed her dream to bring midlife women stylish, comfortable fashion and now owns a thriving company. I am wearing the brown simple V-neck knit and really like to pair brown with white pants in the summer. A rich brown is one of my favorite colors. But, this great top comes in a variety of colors. If you are interested in adding one to your wardrobe, just click on the picture below….
I will wear mine to remember how perseverance has paid off for other successful women…then, go forward!
Now, please go visit the latest HOW I WEAR MY SPRING JACKETS…you will find the looks at THE RICH LIFE ON A BUDGET and EVERYTHING JUST SO
I can't see anything for that gorgeous necklace you have on! xx
Off to go visit. I need an intervention ๐
I hear from some of my girlfriends that job hunting at midlife can be a bit of a rude experience. Hope this isn't the case for you, Pam.
ahhh the "joys" of online applications – I feel your pain! We shall suffer together the indignities of midlife job hunting ๐
I love the necklace! I'm not sure about the top though, it's not one of my favorites.
I'm always amazed by the tests too Pam. Often they seem so unrelated, and that is an obstacle to me since I'm wondering in the back of my mind why they are doing this and if this is done to trip people up (my suspicious nature!). I remember the days when we could actually walk into the hiring company, fill out an application and have an interview. The online aspect is so cold and impersonal, and then you wonder if they ever really received it, read it, etc. Truly a unique experience.
Are there slacks? That seems to be my area of concern fashion wise. I love a pair of white jeans paired with any color top for the summer. Accessories always elevate any outfit. I wear a lot of solid colors, so jewelry and scarves are essential for me.
Love the look!
You look fabulous, as usual! Best of luck in your job search — any company would be lucky to have you!

I haven't a clue of how to search for a job these days. Gone are the Human Resource dept. I must say, Pam, you look so alive with your new hairdo. Something about you has a new swagger ๐
I think you look fab! Love the necklace. Checking out those links now! carolann from sassy townhouse living. For some reason, I couldn't choose the profile I wanted to post under.
No kidding!
Nobody wants to hire their mother ๐
Feeling good about how you look is 100% of the battle!
I have not applied for a job since I started after college and that was a LONG time ago so I can imagine how much it has changed. I love this necklace with the purple – you look gorgeous!
