Dressing Your Personality and The Thursday Blog Hop

Meet Sandi. She is intelligent, talented, and diligent.  We work together and she always looks so nice every day.  She takes time for herself over 50, so I asked her to share with you why she believes it is important to fix up whether working or running errands. What's her secret for great style?

“I dress the way I do because my clothes are an extension of me.  They represent who I am…a respectful, caring person who likes to have fun.  I select clothes which best represent my personality,” she said. She would never want anyone to read her as a disrespectful, lazy, unmotivated person.       “ I don’t run errands without makeup because I believe you should always be prepared to meet someone you had wished you had dressed up for. My family sees me without makeup at home, but I don’t think the public should.”

“I have always lived on a budget and have not had a lot to spend on my clothes.  My solution has been to shop smart and always look for bargains which will coordinate with other pieces already in my closet. I believe it is important to look as nice as your budget can afford because you will be treated differently when you do. I like to wear clothes that are in style because I want my students to think what I teach is as current as my wardrobe. I want them to think I care about my classes as much as I care about what I choose to wear."

Not a t-shirt fan, Sandi prefers a cute, casual top instead…even when at home. She doesn’t think tee-shirts are flattering and not the choice for a vacation souvenir…I tend to agree!

Sandi does a great job of showing us why it is important to carry the I MATTER sign and take care of ourselves.  Our clothes speak volumes and it is up to us what those messages will be.

Lets HOP ♥

  1. I know I say it all the time. But I just love this series.Thank you for being my sweet friend and co hostess xo

  2. Thank you for co-hosting and sharing everyone, Pam!
    Happy Easter!

  3. When I was younger I used to be "all into clothes". As I got older, I didn't care so much. No that I'm a little older, I'm caring again! Thank you so much for hosting!

  4. Thank you both for hosting. This is one of my favorite blog hops! She is wearing a lovely dress, love the grey. Very sophisticated and reflects the dignified attitude she is talking about in the interview. I would not feel comfortable having to wear make up all the time when walking the dog because I think there is so much more to it. But that would make for a fantastic and creative discussion, right? Happy Easter! xo Sabina | Oceanblue Style

  5. I love what Sandi had to say about how she dresses. I'm sure in her camp, and am one of those who wears makeup to run errands AND even to clean the house! How smart to acknowledge your personality in the way you dress, not bowing to trends just because they are trends, but to dress in what makes you feel like YOU. I love it! Also enjoyed your video very much Pam! You came across exactly the way I thought you would and I look forward to more vlog posts! Karen

  6. I agree that the best example that we can show our students is that self-respect and effort make the difference. WE ALL MATTER and how we conduct ourselves each day matters.

  7. Sandi is gorgeous, inside and out. I couldn't agree more with how she views clothing as a reflection of who we are. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Great post! How you dress is a reflection of who you are. They always say that first impressions are always the ones that stay with us. It is kind of odd here in Hong Kong as really anything goes in a big city.

  9. This post is so inspiring - and I love the tea cups in your hostess button! Thanks so much to all of you for hosting this party!

  10. She's beautiful and has a lovely sense of style.

  11. Gorgeous woman, marvellous style and attitude as well :) xx

  12. Hello! Found you from this linky. It's nice to find bloggers in their 40-50s . I don't feel so alone when I do lol.

  13. Hello cute lady! Thank you for hosting such a great party! I really appreciate it. Please take a moment to stop by our party. We would love to party with you twice this week.

    Great post Pam!!

  15. Sandi and I could hang out because I shop the same way. I love her style and that bag comes from one of my favorite stores. I buy what's comfortable.

  16. Sandi is adorable, and I love her sentiments about wise shopping! Thanks for hosting this link up, Pam. T.

  17. Always admired women with style. It took me too long to find mine and sometimes I still lose it, lol. Thanks for co-hosting and Happy Easter!
