How Not to Hate Your Neck and Hands

I have become known for this pose in my outfit-of-the-day pictures where I look up...it is a statement of hope and joy for me!  I wasn't always this confident about my neck...or my hands for that matter.
I really have accepted my 61-year-old aging body, but today I am over on MIDLIFE BOULEVARD discussing how to make it go just a little easier with the neck and hands.

Please join me in

Then have a wonderful Tuesday!
And get excited...there are two fun giveaways coming later this week!  You will not want to miss either one!

  1. Thank you for sharing that information. I've always wondered what it was you were staring at.

As for our hands and neck (arms too). Scarves and sleeves become our best friends. I read that using a bright red nail polish detracts from age spots and people notice the nails and nothing else. Since then I went from no nail polish to a vivid coral. Don't know if it works but now an outfit doesn't quite seem complete without nail polish. Give it go and see if you feel different about your hands.

  2. I think it's great that you have so much confidence about your appearance - as well you should, and we all should, no matter our age!

  3. Hi Pam,

I popped over and read your article. It's so funny because I just had this conversation with a girlfriend about how old our hands are looking. The two places where you can tell a person's true age is neck and hands. I'm going to start exfoliating as you suggested. Do you use a scrub? I also heard you should use whatever you are using on your face on your hands and neck.
    Have fun at the conference!!!
    Deb xo

  4. This post reminds me of the Nora Ephron book, "I Feel Bad About My Neck". It is a great read, and will make you feel better about your neck, if you've not read it!

  5. Ha! I'm doing a blog post on 'neck care' next week! Isn't it one of the areas we all wish we could hide year round?? Well, at least I do . . .

Pam, hope I get a chance to say 'Hello' at BAM.

  6. I agree with Stylopedia - your post made me think of Nora's book ( a great read). We should all be proud of our bodies, for all they do for us. xox

  7. You have beautiful hands and your neck looks wonderful... a happy young looking neck to me!

  8. I feel worse about my neck than I ever felt about my nose (there is nothing wrong with my nose). However, I have found some really good facial exercises, including some for the neck and jaw. I feel a muscle burn when I do them. I'll keep you posted.

  9. Pam you look amazing and are an inspiration- you are always so positive and upbeat, I love coming over here to visit :)

  10. I've been trying neck exercises for the past week. I haven't noticed any improvement so far, though. I'm not yet ready to accept the jowls and turkey neck. At 63, I should probably give up, but I just can't!

    1. Don't give up! I've been doing some since I was in my 20's - wish I'd found the neck ex sooner. I'm always mistaken for being at least 10 years younger than my age (62).

  11. It is what it is and I cannot change it. So instead of fighting it and feeling miserable, I am accepting it as a fact of life and move on.

  12. I am not sure I can ever accept the neck and chest changes, such a tough area for a woman. We can diet and exercise and fix so much else but the neck and chin area are... our most aging spots. Thanks for this

Thanks so much for joining in our conversation today! I appreciate your time and love hearing from you!
