The Lazy Last Days of Summer

Labor Day Weekend….thank goodness…after two weeks of teaching high school, I can use the refreshment.  I love the beginning of football and fall…and we have a few rain clouds around.  So, I hope to rest and look through my September magazines.  And, I will read….

This fun book which arrived in a Bergdorf Goodman shopping bag!

The press release said, “Betty Halbreich is a true original. Eighty-six-years old and the longtime head of Solutions Personal Shopping service for Bergdorf Goodman, Halbreich is fiesty, funny, and wise.  She is a master of the makeover, but the story of her own transformation is the most amazing of all as told in this memoir.”

I will write a review when finished…but if you can’t wait, then click on the Amazon link below.  I can’t wait to dive in to this!

Happy Saturday, all!!

  1. Have a relaxing weekend, Pam! Let me know how that book is. I love stories of personal transformations – as you know I've been going through my own. I have read all the books on Coco Chanel because it's her personal transformations that intrigues me. xo

  2. I'm going to read that book too. How lucky that you got sent an ARC, I'm going to have to pay for my copy! Let me know what you think of the book, Betty is a tough lady and I can't wait to read about her life and style! XO, Jill

  3. I still have that issue of Bazaar on my kitchen table where I stole a few minutes and peeked at the photos of Audrey Hepburn's granddaughter. (In fact, it's a wonderful issue, and makes me want to poke around the local stores for clothes, which I haven't felt like doing in some time.)

The Betty Halbreich book sounds like great fun!
