Accessories Which Tell A Story

I met a photographer recently wearing this gorgeous cuff bracelet.  “Where did you buy this?” I had to know!  She proceeded to tell me a story about how this bracelet had been handed down through her family….generation to generation…and she was honored to be the wearer of it now!!

A lucky lady!  Do you own any precious, one of a kind accessories which tell a story?

If so, please share!  And have a wonderful Saturday!

  1. I appreciate it when people give me the opportunity to tell about how I got my jewelry, because most of it has some sentiment attached. I'm sure the owner of the bracelet loved telling you too!

  2. When my Mama passed away, all of her jewelery, real and really fun, was divided up among her three daughters. There are several things I treasure from those pieces. But one chunky, colourful bracelet stands out. I can't tell you the number of times I tried to sneak it out of Mom's jewelery box without success. She and that bracelet had a connection . . . When she passed, Dad, knowing how much I loved it, gave it to me!

  3. My mother in law left me several lovely pieces of jewelry when she passed away – I wish I knew their story!

  4. So gorgeous. I love clothing and accessories with a story. I wear the little diamond band my father gave my mother in 1954. It's beautiful as ever after 60 years. xox

  5. My mother had this brooch. It was hideous in my book. Pink, green, and blue shiny stones. She bought it at Kresge's –the precursor to K-Mart. I used to cringe every time she put that thing on her suit jacket. This was back in the days when bank folk dressed to go to work…no business casual back then. Every year for Mother's Day, I bought her a REAL jewelry brooch, but that stupid looking one was her fave. When she passed, that silly brooch was the only thing that I wanted. I actually now have it in a shadow box hanging on my wall. I do wear it sometimes and it doesn't seem at all ugly to me anymore.

  6. I have quite a collection of pieces that once belonged to my grandmother, my mom and now myself. I cherish them and only wear them on occasion. They are irreplaceable and I would hate myself if I loss them.
