Diet Update…Favorites So Far!

Two whole weeks have flown by, but so far, I have stayed on my calorie counting diet!

I am eating 1200 calories a day.  Cardio five days a week, strength training two.
So far, so good.

These are some of the products which have helped.  I count my calories on www.myfitnesspal.com.

Protein is important for me because I will be less hungry during the day.  That is why greek yogurt and the amazing new frozen treats at the top really help me to power through.
I eat them only on days I need a treat!

  1. That's great! That yoghurt looks yummy. I'm struggling with the monthly bloatiness so need to learn how to control that and reduce calories.

  2. Mmmm, those Enlightened fudge bars look good! Like the fact that they're low-sugar.

Best wishes to you, Pam, on your new way of eating and your new workout schedule! We're pulling for you!

  3. Wow Pam! I admire your consistency and determination. I've been getting more exercise (since it's summer vacation;), yoga and swimming, but I've not been counting any calories. We are off to 10 days of 'all-inclusive' vacation in the Dominican Republic today. Lord help me-I hope my friend 'Will Power' shows up because it can be a real food/drink fest. Hahahaha!
Keep up the great work lady! You are inspiring!

  4. Good job! I am trying to stick with a diet after having my daughter. It is hard, but I feel good that I am doing it. I will have to try the Amy's items; Ive heard good things. Feel free to add me on myfitnesspal if you want: jenlhaa

  5. Hi Pam
I've been following your blog for months in my favourites and a couple of weeks ago I decided to join blog land for women 45+. Please would you follow my blog, if you feel you want to. I'm on a diet and new style journey as well :o)

  6. Hi Pam,
I've also been on a 1200 calorie a day diet and I've stuck to it for an entire week. So far so good, but I definitely need special low cal treats to replace my daily candy bar habit. One of my favorites is Dole Dippers (slices of frozen banana dipped in dark chocolate with almonds). I love Greek yogurt too; definitely helps keep the hunger under control.

Best wishes to you in meeting your goals!

  7. I have some fudgecicles in my fridge too. When I'm in control I it out and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. It's just a little creamier when it's not frozen solid. That's hard because I usually want to wolf it down!

I try not to eat unless I'm sitting down. When you're keeping portions at "normal" levels you can't get away with eating half a serving standing in front of the fridge.
