ROCK ON!

Four short weeks…..

I will turn 60, in just four weeks.  I can remember a time when I thought 60 was really old.  Not any more.  But, realistically, is it too old to face a fear…is it too old to change life long habits…is it too old to turn things around??  A part of me says, why face this issue, it doesn’t matter …you are 60…give up…throw in the towel…you were not able to do this…accept it…enjoy your time remaining and do what you want.

However, another side of me says…you can do this and it will be worth it for many reasons.  Suck it up…go for it…face the fears.

What am I talking about?  You will have to wait…all in good time, my sweet friends! I took a small step today.

I may be turning 60, but I will still ROCK ON!

Has anyone else changed lifelong habits later in life?  Please share!

We are leaving town for a couple of days for a wedding!  Posting may be sporadic, but I will return for Visible Monday…have a great weekend, everyone!

  1. I believe that we're never too old to "learn new tricks." In fact, I think it's change and challenging ourselves that keeps us vital and engaged.

  2. Congrats on 60! You have such an inspiring blog and I think you beautifully articulate how we can make the decision to stay interesting and interested. I look forward to reading your words every day.

  3. On of my teachers used to say "where ever you are you are just beginning" This is so true as how can it be any other way. 60 is the start of anything you want it to be. Change is constantly with us so we might as well go with the flow and enjoy it. Any resistance is futile.

  4. My motto is live and love until you die. I am 64 and have started things in my 60's that I put off or ignored earlier in life. I've taken up guitar, aerobics and attended yoga conferences in Boston. And I was a couch potato who thought I was incapable of doing such things. From what I have read, you have achieved a metamorphosis in the past few years that have helped you become the lovely, intelligent and happy person you wanted to be. The best is yet to come. As one person said, "Rock on, Pam." You are doing great so far.

  5. Oh! Its never to late. I just turned 59 and I've totally changed my surroundings, started a business and cut my hair. I am really enjoying the grown-up me, I look forward to each new day for something great to happen. Enjoy your weekend.

  7. I'll be 70 in 4 months – and started saying should an almost 70 year old professional woman be doing (whatever). Then I had my nails colored blue – and went to work. I like them (the nails)and the best thing about getting older – you stop worrying about everything and what everyone else thinks.

  8. First of all, no one would ever guess you are turning 60. You are so inspirational to so many women, Pam. I love love love your attitude!!!! xo

  9. I go with the "it's never too late" policy. After all, you can always try something and if you don't like it, don't continue with it!

  10. I did. I was 43 before I got my drivers license. Up til then I took the bus or I relied on others for a ride. I was nervous about it,but now 12 years later I cant believe I waited so long…..Change can be a good thing.

  11. Happy Birthday! I am a long time reader, but seldom post. I am also 60 and will graduate with a B.S. Degree next semester. I embarked on a totally new career path about 4 years ago and just received my State Certification. No rocking chair in sight. Whatever you are doing, go for it!

  12. Happy Birthday, Pam. 20 years ago a friend of mine jokingly said on her 60th birthday…."where have I been all my life?" She is still going strong, as active as ever and involved in mentoring many.

  13. 60 is the new awesome. You and many other wonderful women are showing that it's never to late to pick up style, and explore body confidence!

  14. I absolutely see you rocking on! We're NEVER too old to turn things around. My style choices are reflective of my own life decision to forge ahead. All the best to you as you step with joy into this new challenge.
