Spring Trend 2013: Stripes…Figure Flattering Ways!!

Many people come to reinvention when life changes around them, but people come in all different stripes. I’m oriented to change.
Unlike Jane,I am into reinvention, but I definitely like my stripes a different way.  I realize horizontal stripes are big on the trend scene…it is one of those trends which goes in and out on a regular basis.
But, for a curvy lady as I am, the horizontal stripe is not a figure flattering look.  I bought this Daisy Fuentes top at Kohl’s last year.  I love the diagonals of the top and how slender I feel in it.  This is how to make a trend work for your body type…maybe go in a different direction!!
I have studied fashion rules for years (which I will discuss on Tuesday), but it does make a difference to learn what will flatter your body type.  I also like the vertical stripes and find them to be flattering as well.  Here are a couple of looks, first from Foxcroft Contrast Stripe; second from Talbots…both more figure flattering than horizontal.

Monday, I am participating in a few link ups…beginning, as always, with Visible MondayMonday Bloom and Monday Mingle!

  1. Yes, your stripes are *very* flattering, Pam – you wear them so well! Thanks for sharing the look with Visible Monday xoxoxo

  2. You know how to make the stripe trend work for you by tweaking it into a diagonal look. I really like the top on you! I only do vertical or chevron stripes myself. I'll skip the horizontals, thank you LOL!
