IOMA Paris at SAKS…An Experience Like No Other for Everyone!

This week has been beyond stressful…as a high school teacher, as a journalism teacher, as an American…and I wear all of it on my face.  I left work one day this week to cover another story for my blog…stressed from the day and not really expecting to find anything new or special.
A refreshing oasis awaited!
There were moments after I entered the beautiful world of SAKS FIFTH AVENUE when I felt as though I was in Paris…then it seemed I was at a dermatologist’s office…only to end my time convinced I was actually at a spa.   IOMA PARIS provided an in-store experience like none other I have had to date.
When you walk up to the counter at SAKS, you will immediately see a display which looks like the top of a space helmet….that made me curious.  The fabulous technicians (and let me add every woman I met that day was strikingly beautiful) began to introduce me to the IOMA founder, JEAN MICHAEL KARAM….not originally a beauty expert but rather a brilliant engineer who invented MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) which is composed of complex electronic components now mandatory to many industries (automobile, aeronautics, medicine, biology, and telecommunications).
Karam’s skincare advancements enable IOMA to provide the most personal skincare science in existence.  Testing traditionally done in the dermatologist office for a huge expense, is now offered free at the beauty counter…where they can then determine exactly what we need to look our best.  The perfect marriage of technology and beauty!  This is perfect for women of all ages, young adults, and men!
Did I say FREE skincare analysis??
The products recommended are prepared with the highest concentration of premium active ingredients, without parabens.
The process began with my head placed inside of the space-helmet-looking device.  In 15 seconds, the technicians are provided a series of photos which give a reading on my skin texture (wrinkles, fine lines, firmness); redness report; UV damage assessment and pigment spots; and bacterial activity including clogged pores.   Then they can determine which products they recommend made from the most advanced ingredients at the highest doses allowed over the counter.
At this point, I was taken to a back room which resembled many of the fine spas I have been blessed to visit since becoming a blogger.
Wait…I thought we were in a department store??

SAKS just transformed me to a place where I found rest.  Molly, the IOMA esthetician, proceeded to give the best facial I have ever experienced.   30 minutes of heaven!!  Including a hand massage with their (hand cream) placed in gloves and hand warmers to enhance the experience.  A treat provided to customers after their second visit to IOMA.  My favorite products during the facial were the Anti-Wrinkle Mask, Night Cream, and hand cocoon cream.  One thing I have learned from several sources is that French women accept the fact we age…they just want to look amazing while it is happening, in the most natural ways.  The Anti-Wrinkle Mask has ingredients to mimic snake venom and produce natural, relaxed tightening results.
This is something you simply must do, ladies, if you live in San Antonio.  Please tell them I sent you!!  And for those readers in Houston, the founder, Jean Michael will be in Houston next week at Saks in the Galleria!!  Personalized Skincare just for you with analysis done right before your eyes.
I am off to get ready for the Fiesta Ole Fashion Show this morning…thanks to IOMA, Iooking my best!!
Have a wonderful Saturday all!!!

  1. Wow, that sounds great! The snake venom part sounds kind of creepy, but at least it's not in the snakes anymore!

I've posted pictures with my new Torija Topper that I won in your giveaway – and I'll wear it today for lunch, too!

  2. Val, I didn't say it was snake venom….I said it was "like" snake venom…comparable to what is used for Botox. Parisians will not kill snakes for their venom…but they know how to mimic it!!

  3. Best line in the post: "The process began with my head placed inside of the space-helmet-looking device." Now how often do you get to say that???? (tee hee)

I, too, am a high school teacher, and I, too, shop at Saks occasionally. I love it. It's spacious and friendly and well-lit and the employees are super nice. Sure, some things are out of my price range, but that's also true at Dress Barn. The things that are in my price range, though, are far more fun to buy at Saks than…elsewhere. (Not naming names.) And cosmetics–of any brand–cost no more at Saks than elsewhere. Thanks for this post! Quite an engaging read.
