Eye Shadow To Change For

I do not make changes to my make up easily.  Oh, I love to experiment, but actual changes…well, that’s another story.  It was the wonderful women of the blogs who got me to change a few months ago from foundation to tinted moisturizer…an excellent change.
But, I have not messed with my eye shadow for years.  Until I experimented with Le Metier de Beaute and was encouraged to try the shimmery color Chameleon on top of the taupe color I use by Bobbi Brown.  I love it!  It is now a permanent change!  I never would have expected to find me in a little shimmer every day.
I’ve got to stop being so set in my ways…change is so much fun!

Have a peaceful Sunday, everyone!

  1. I've used tinted moisturizer for years; I splurged on a trip to NYC at Bonwit Teller and bought Clarins Tinted Moisturizer. I've tried foundation since then and can't stand the feel of it. I have a few Bobbi Brown eye shadows. Do you have the name of the taupe that you use? And where do you find Le Metier de Beaute? I haven't heard of it.

  2. It's fun to change make-up, isn't it? Love these shades, and Bobbi Brown is my go-to when I want to try something new, and it has to be good : >

  3. Like you, I love to experiment (in the stores), but rarely actually change beyond my two favorites… Dior & Chanel.

Then I remind myself that change is good! (These look enticing.)

  4. Hi Kristien,
I believe you can find it at Neiman Marcus and Nordstroms. There is a link in my post to their website. I was invited to Neiman's to try it and whenever I need to get some more, I think I will go there…I loved the man who helped me at their counter. Sorry, I cannot read the name on the bottom of the Bobbi Brown…too beat up. My daughter gave this color to me a couple of years ago and I really like it…while I call it taupe, it is heavy in the gray tones. Hope this helps!

  5. Pam, I am also very set in my ways when it comes to makeup. I've worn the same color of Cover Girl blush for 20 years. Obviously it works for them since they still carry it. I would never even consider shimmer…and then one of the ballroom makeup artists got to me to try some for competition. It looked great and I tried a much more subtle version for everyday and its nice too. But I really don't make makeup changes easily, because there are so many times that I've ended up not liking new makeup I've purchased.
I recently tried some Mary Kay makeup since they have a lovely refillable and customizable compact and I love it! It even stands the test of staying on for three hours of hard dancing!

  6. I know what you mean about experimenting/making changes to makeup routine.
My rule of thumb is basically this: to wear as little as possible, and I tend to stay with MAC and Chanel.

  7. Good Evening Pam, I use Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, it is quite pricey, but lasts forever. The only shimmery make up I have used is a Bobbi Brown blusher which friends often remark on and looks lovely in Spring and Summer. It is wonderful having daughters as they are always advising me of changes (whether I want them or not!). Have a lovely day. Best Wishes Daphne

  8. Many thanks! I am downsizing my makeup and replacing only the necessary. A new eyeshadow is in order and I will look at Le Metier de Beaute. It might work with my two of my Bobbi Brown's.
