Coco Chanel…Elegance for Every Age

Today I am joining in with Jill and Adrienne as they pay a
special tribute to Coco Chanel.  I have
never owned anything authentic Chanel…not even the perfume.  But, I have been fascinated with her life and
designs for years.  She is the queen of
elegance and style…though a little hard on men!

I love so many of her quotes.   Things like:
“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be
different.”
“Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress
impeccably and they remember the woman.”

She gave us the courage to wear pearls with denim and to
feminize  menswear!  She taught us not to merely walk into a room,
but OWN THE ROOM!

Maybe someday, I will splurge big time and buy an original
Chanel.  But, until that day, I will
honor her with inspiration looks.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

  1. You look stunning and very Coco. How I enjoy opening your post every day. It is always uplifting, entertaining and so supportive of les femmes d'un certain age.

  2. LOVE the jacket. Coco Chanel was truly one of a kind. Have you seen the movie Coco Before Chanel? It was really good. I didn't know she had such a hard life. She was an orphan. Talk about a rags to riches story!! xo

  3. You look "fabulous, Dahling!!!"….all laughing aside, you look marvelous in this outfit….I would wear this over and over. You make me realize that now is not the time to give up on trying to look good….even if I do it just to make me feel better when I look in the mirror….many thanks!!!

  4. Wonderful! Chanel is a true classic, and most of us can wear something of hers and feel terrific. (And Ann Taylor has amazing sales in the summer – I recently nabbed a fantastic fitted button down $68 blouse – exquisite – for $8!)

  5. Elegant and stylish – those are the two words that come to mind immediately. That jacket is so versatile. What a great addition to your wardrobe.
Thank you so much for participating. I always look forward to seeing what you'll wear in our How I Wear My posts. I am very excited about next month's theme – second hand treasure! I know you will have something fantastic to show. The hard part for you and for me is decided which item or outfit to select!

  6. Hi Pam, you look so good in that jacket, I just love it. Thank you for joining us this month, this has been one of my favorite 'How I Wear My' posts. And I love the Chanel quotes! XO, Jill

  7. I love Chanel's enduring and classic style too! The tweed suits are my favorite, and once I tried on on. It was fantastic, but unfortunately nit that flattering forn$2,500 used. I passed. Maybe one day I'll go for it.
