Visual Monday: Party of Five, Please!

Michael Kors Sweater:
Stein Mart
Tweek Skirt: Lane
Bryant
Spanx Tights: Nordstroms
Antonio Melanie Flats:
Dillards

I really love the fact that Patti of Not Dead Yet Style placed her blogger event about visability on a Monday. It is so inspiring to begin our week with thoughts of empowerment and confidence. So, today I came to the event with a party of five….Michael, Lane, Sara, Dana and Antonio!

This is a look I plan to wear to a power luncheon this week, because I feel so confident in it. I found the Michael Kors sweater a year ago on a Red Dot Clearance rack in the Stein Mart boutique area. I almost didn’t try it on, because it was obviously the oversized style that I was attempting to avoid. But, here is why you MUST try clothes on. The design and the fit of the sweater did not make me look bigger and flowed beautifully around the area I was most concerned about.

Dana Buchman Jewelry: Kohls

Lane Bryant designed a group of fabulous skirts this year and the smaller size has fit me perfectly as I have lost weight. The skirts are one LB item I can still wear without a baggy fit. As I have written before, the only bad side to losing weight is that I will miss Lane Byant…the store got me through some tough times when I was struggling with body image and helped me feel good about where I was at that moment.

What really makes the look fun is the Dana Buchman jewelry from Kohls.  I purchased the necklace last year and have worn it on the blog before…but I found the bracelet recently, on sale, and with a coupon…amazingly affordable!  Never pay full price is always my motto!!

I discovered Antonio Melanie shoes at Dillard’s just before our wedding last year. This designer brings gorgeous, comfortable shoes to the table. In fact, my daughter wore Melanie heels under her wedding dress and did not complain about her feet once during a very long wedding celebration. I love the flats I am wearing today…one thing about ageing for me is that I prefer flats now…but there are so many cute ones on the market, it is really no problem to look stylish!

Finally, I am pleased to have in my party the innovative entrepreneur Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx! Sara went from selling office equipment to inventing every woman’s best friend. She started with an idea and went for it…she is an American success story and a perfect example of the possibilities of reinvention! Here is a link from Business Week to her story:  Business Week

Now, be confident ladies…go out there this week and accomplish great things. Do not waste one day! Each day is a gift!  To receive a dose of inspiration, go visit the other ladies of VISIBLE MONDAY!

  1. Very powerful, yet feminine look, Pam! That necklace is such a statement. You are indeed visible and beautiful. And how do you get your hair to look so good *every* day?? : >
Thanks so much for participating in Visible Monday!

  2. you look great! I love Dana Buchman, I had no idea she has a line at Kohls! Will have to check it out, the jewelry is lovely!
    xx

  3. Happy Monday! You look wonderful. I always love your jewelry, actually you inspired me to check out the jewelry at my local Kohl's last week but I didn't see anything as wonderful as what you wear.

  4. Beautiful necklace. I find my self in a jewelery rut lately. Sometimes it's to easy to go with the tried and true……….Thinking about busting out this week!

  5. I love the jewelry Pam, and the sweater looks fantastic on you! You are definitely right in the sense that you have to try things on before you can definitely say yay or nay!

  6. I'd taken a little break from the blogs… then see yours today. My first thought was "the Incredible Shrinking Woman". Congratulations… your efforts are paying off!

I always found the downside of shrinking out of LB sizes is that I wind up in the horrible inbetween land where NOTHING fits. But you seem to have a more off-the-rack shape, so hopefully shopping won't be such a void for you

  7. Pam — I would wear this outfit in a heartbeat! It looks very elegant and chic and comfortable all at the same time. I like that skirt (is it a wrap skirt?).

  8. Love the outfit and I am also a tad bummed out because I no longer fit into LB clothes. They were my "go to" store for so long when I needed something new to wear. Now I can no longer wear even their smallest size. Happy to lose weight but will miss their store.
