Let The Countdown Begin!

An outfit for running errands!!
Blouse by Paraphase: Marshall’s
Jacket: Old Navy

I decided to post today just to take my mind off of the chaos for a few minutes…but this will be my last post until after the wedding…or until I have the energy to post again next week!! I do not think I could ever be a wedding planner and deal with this all the time…it is exhausting, but I am sure for someone called to be an official WP, the chaos is exhilarating!!

When we selected our venue last winter, we looked at several beautiful places open in August, but ruled them out because August is when we have brutal 100 degree humid weather! Well, wouldn’t you know it , the weather this Saturday is forecast to be 103 degree sweltering heat!! The reception is outside, but doesn’t begin until sunset and is on the roof of a building where there will be breeze…still it might be toasty at first. June is not usually this hot or this dry!

At one point, I mentally made a list of everything that could go wrong….but mentally discarded the list and decided to focus on all that can go right.

WHAT CAN GO RIGHT:

We are adding to our family a wonderful young man and he puts a smile on our daughter’s face like none other.

The wedding brings together family members who have not seen each other for a long time.

The wedding brings together friends who have not seen each other for a long time.

Our wedding planner is a dear family friend and has done a fabulous job!

Our daughter has planned a FUN wedding and FUN it will be!
Bracelet: Kohls
Ring: Stein Mart

(if it’s hot or we run out of food or the sound system fails…so be it…)

Next week, I will share pictures…tell you the story of my outfit….put my feet up….and RELAX! Have a great weekend, all!

  5. I'll bet it will be flawless…and if not, think of all the funny stories people will tell about the memorable wedding they attended. Take deep breaths.

  6. Have a great celebration, congrats to your daughter. Really, all you need to do now is relax and enjoy.

I was a wedding planning for years, but became too stressful.

  8. It will be a great wedding, and it is smart to focus on the positive. I hated our band, but my hubby said, "the important thing is that we are married." Leave it to a man to see the positive side! So, that IS the important thing and all the things you listed.

  9. I am sure the wedding will be lovely. No doubt something will go wrong, but in my experience, it is those things that make the best memories.
You always find such cool things at thrift shops. I never find anything worthwhile at the shops here in Wichita. The shoes are always worn out and nasty looking.
