My Wonderful World of Color

Day 24 – Of Creating a Unique Look Every Day

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”

-Coco Chanel

Color Begins My Day at School
Color Ends my day at home

I love saturated, vibrant color. Since I hit the big 5-0, I have stayed away from pastels, mostly because I prefer the look of deeper color.

The blouse I wore today, I picked up off of a last, last seasonal clearance two years ago. You know, these are the racks with the remaining things that no one wanted. I was immediately attracted to it, but shuffled around the store wondering why it was still there. What was wrong with it? Nevertheless, I liked it, so I grabbed it for around $8.00. I have only worn it about three times.

So many colors in this blouse

I know the skirt is long, but it may be awhile before I feel comfortable in shorter skirts again. That is a weight thing…but my confidence grows in that area.

I chose to go with a touch of vintage on the accessories.

Pocket Detail of the Denim Jacket

  1. ew baby, I am frothing over that BLOUSE!!! All those colors? I am in love…..
And one tier off that skirt would be just perfect–but bravo girl-you are wearing skirts!
Love the detail on the jacket–

  2. Paula and I have been having a skirt debate for a while now. I like the long length and the cordoroy. And thanks for the close up of the necklace. I wonder if it's the squareness of the links that appeal to guys.

  3. I love the blouse and you actually wore it the way I probably would…paired with a neutral. The flower pin is GORGEOUS! The whole thing is just FABULOUS! Forget the whole weight thing, slap on some dark tights and hike up that skirt baby! Work it! 🙂 ~Serene

  4. I love this outfit very uniquely stylish and love the target ring and ross boots. Isn't it funny how men respond to things like stuff you would never suspect they are strange creatures.

  5. I agree that the skirt is a bit long but I can appreciate that someone who stands up in front of teens all day needs to wear clothing that keeps them covered up through various reaches and bends.

It's interesting that the necklace is on a ribbon. I imagine that helps it lie flat around your neck where you don't want the chunkiness.
